How do I remove a mirror from the bathroom wall that has been glued and grouted onto the wall?

I recently moved into a new home and sometime in its almost 100 years of existence, a previous owner placed a mirror (about 2x3) on the bathroom wall. The mirror seems quite distorted now when looking into it and I want to replace it with a hanging mirror. I assume the mirror is glued to the plaster wall, but the thing that really concerns me is that the mirror also has grout on three sides of it and is bordered by ceramic tile. I would like to save the tile and ditch the mirror. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

chances are, you're going to break the tiles and mirror while removing them. use a putty knife and work the edges and hopefully, you can peel off the tiles and mirrors off the wall, damaging only the paper of the dry wall. there's no other way, you will have to sacrifice one for the other. good luck.

If it's glued on the only way to remove it is to break it. Put safety glasses on and long sleeves, you'd be surprised at how shards of glass can fly, get yourself a hammer and go at 'er.
You may have to scrape any really stuck pieces off and then unfortunately repair the sheetroc behind the mirror.
Use the hammer more in the center of the mirror and then you can scrape the mirror off the edges where the tiles are and they shouldn't get damaged.
It's always best to do the job correctly, even if it's a little more labor, you'll get the best results that way.

first try to cut the glue around the mirror with a hard cutting knife but that will need a bit of hard work

Get a new mirror cut to cover old crummy one. Use a plywood or foamboard to gauge correct size. Build up old if neccessary & contact cement new one in place. Otherwise do the hammer thang.

They listened to a flippant remark and not the whole statement. McCain has stated that he didn't mean that we would be there FIGHTING for 100 years.
